  Can you outline the stages of a typical advisory consultation for a private client?

The client contacts us and we ascertain exactly what their needs are.

First of all we have a chat to define the problem. The client may have photos we can look at and we often send an expert out to investigate further.

Once we know exactly what the client’s needs are we send them details of the work involved and the cost.

With every consultation it’s essential to develop a transparent relationship between the buyer the vendor and the consultant. The consultant must never have any financial interest in the object being sold.

The consultant’s job is to base his valuation on the actual market situation, to bear in mind all the factors that could influence the price of the object and to select works which are in line with the client’s taste.
